Cloud computing and its role in developing accounting information systems

Abstract

In light of the uncertain development of information technology, particularly the massive amount of data and the diversity of e-business applications, there has been an urgent need for advanced storage and processing solutions. For this growing reason, some individuals are turning to investing more money in this technology.
This study provides a comprehensive analysis of accounting information systems in light of the modern set, with a particular focus on the role of cloud computing in reshaping these technologies. Initially, the concept of accounting information systems and its basic components were reviewed, and the compatibility between them and information technology and infrastructure was clarified. An overview of IT-based accounting information systems was also provided, identifying their distinctive characteristics.
In the second phase, a review was conducted on the concept of cloud computing and its various types, along with the analysis characteristics of each type and the available data deployment models. In addition, the leading companies providing cloud computing services and their offerings were reviewed.
The study then concluded with an analysis of the impact of cloud computing on accounting information systems, highlighting the importance this accounting technology provides and the continued success it provides. A detailed comparison was also conducted between traditional accounting information systems and their cloud-based counterparts, examining the fundamental differences in terms of compliance, flexibility, and cost.
