The extent of cybersecurity awareness among faculty members from their point of view(field study on faculty members at the Higher Institute of Science and Technology in Al-Khums Municipality)

Abstract

This study aims to identify the level of awareness of cyber security among faculty members (a field study on faculty members at the Higher Institute of Science and Technology, Al-Khums Municipality) from their point of view. The researcher used the descriptive approach using social survey samples, which is consistent with the nature and objectives of the study. The questionnaire wa used as a study tool. The study sample consists of (30) faculty members at the Higher Institute of Science and Technology, Al-Khums Municipality. The results of the study showed that the level of awareness of cyber security among faculty members is low at a rate of up to (67%). It was also  found that most of them face personal challenges that affect their ability to prevent cyber security risks and crimes. As for their level of awareness of cyber security applications, it was average. In addition, the majority of faculty members expressed great support for holding periodic training courses in the field of cyber security, reaching a rate of (70).
