Abstract

This research deals with the ordeal of Ibn Rushd, which is considered one of the turning points in the history of Islamic philosophy. It does so by analyzing the historical and social context surrounding this ordeal, reviewing its causes, discussing its main motives, and explaining its intellectual and political repercussions, with a focus on its impact, and clarifying its effects on Islamic and Western philosophy. It also shows the political and religious pressures that led to his exile and the burning of his books, which affected his philosophical production and the relationship between thought and authority in that era after the spread of the trend of conservatism and tradition.
