Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mechanisms of mitigating sequential delays resulting from "Interdependent Delays" and technical interface conflicts in construction  projects by implementing the Last Planner System (LPS) as a core tool of Lean Construction .The research adopts a descriptive-analytical methodology rooted in planning governance and literature review, supported by a real-world case study of a struggling construction project rescued through lean planning practices. Additionally, a field study was conducted utilizing a statistical questionnaire distributed to a purposive sample of engineers and project managers ( N=50 ) , yielding an excellent Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.86.

The findings indicate that reliance on traditional scheduling methods (such as the Critical Path Method without horizontal real-time coordination) increases dispute probabilities among work packages by over 30%. Conversely, the application of LPS raised the Percent Plan Complete (PPC) to over 85% and reduced interface-related change orders by 22%. The study recommends mandating weekly collaborative planning sessions as an operational contract appendix and training technical teams to ensure seamless workflow without idle periods.
